Lots of big and small changes and demands for quick proofing and new PDF versions sucked the power of the agency’s staff and although the final product was successful and the customer was satisfied, it was not a successful project as a whole.
Creating the first collaboration platform
One part of the agency focused on web development, and they started to think about how web technology could build a solution that addressed the challenges of the current way of working. InDesign was released in 1999, and ever since then the surrounding developments have been based on the tool and its text editor InCopy.
In 2001, the company CtrlPrint was formally created. In those days it was a small company with only 4 employees and 20 clients.
Going global
Since its inception, CtrlPrint has stood on one leg in Sweden and one in the UK. We have had an office in the UK since 2005 but in 2010 we started our UK limited company. After that it took a few years before the next office opened in Helsinki, Finland in 2019. Opening an office in a brand new market and then going into a pandemic has required some patience and belief in our offering.
Today we have more than 1,000 clients worldwide. Our next office will open in Australia in the summer of 2023 and then maybe in a market near you?
